Booking Terms and Conditions - Gheralta Adventures

1. Reservations & Payments

• One-Day Excursions: Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your guide and transport.

• Multi-Day Tours: A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your expedition. The remaining balance must be cleared 14 days prior to the start date.

• Currency: All prices are quoted in USD. Payments made in local currency will be subject to the prevailing bank exchange rate on the day of payment.

2. Cancellation & Refund Policy

We understand that plans change. Our refund schedule is based on how close you are to the "Base Camp" start date:

ONE-DAY EXCURSIONS

• 7+ Days before: 100% Refund

• 2–6 Days before: 50% Refund

• Less than 48 hours: No Refund

MULTI-DAY TOURS

• 7+ Days before: 75% Refund (Deposit Kept)

• 2–6 Days before: 25% Refund

• Less than 48 hours: No Refund

3. Health, Safety & Physical Requirements

The Gheralta terrain involves steep sandstone ascents and high altitudes.

• Self-Assessment: By booking, you certify that you are physically fit for the specific activity level (Easy, Moderate, or Extreme) described in your itinerary.

• Safety Gear: Proper hiking boots and sun protection are mandatory. Our guides reserve the right to deny participation if a guest lacks appropriate safety gear or appears physically unable to complete the climb safely.

4. Itinerary Changes & Force Majeure

Adventure in the Tigray region is subject to local conditions.

• Weather & Access: We reserve the right to modify routes or substitute rock-churches if weather, rockfall, or local religious ceremonies make the original path unsafe or inaccessible.

• Cancellations by Us: If we must cancel a tour due to safety concerns or "Force Majeure" (unforeseen regional events), you will receive a 100% refund or a full credit for future travel.

5. Travel Insurance

Highly Recommended. Standard medical insurance often excludes "mountain trekking." We strongly advise purchasing a comprehensive travel insurance policy that covers medical evacuation, trip interruption, and accidental injury specifically for adventure activities.

6. Liability Release

Participation in Gheralta expeditions involves inherent risks associated with high-altitude hiking and rock climbing. By booking with us, you acknowledge these risks and agree to hold Gheralta Adventures and its guides harmless from any injuries, loss of property, or delays incurred during the tour.
